Innovative Care in the Care Home Sector

This person or team must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to care and put the person being cared for at the heart of what they do.

GP Practice of the Year

This award recognises the contribution of everyone in the GP practice to provide a good service to patients, where staff have gone the extra mile when treating you or someone you know.

Doctor of the Year

This person must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to patient care and put the patient at the heart of what they do. Entrants can be from any health care profession, and can work anywhere, from a GP practice to in a hospital.

Special Recognition Nursing Award

This person must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to patient care and put the patient at the heart of what they do. Entrants can be from any health care profession, and can work anywhere, from community care to in a hospital.

Surgeon of the Year

This person must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to patient care and put the patient at the heart of what they do. Entrants can be from any health care profession.

Volunteer of the Year

This award acknowledges those volunteers who have shown an exceptional and outstanding commitment to helping people. They can be from inside or outside the NHS, working formally or informally. We want to know how they go above and beyond the call of duty and the difference they are making to people’s lives.

3rd Sector or Community Team of the Year

Are you – or do you know someone who is - doing something new, something bold or different? Something new to you, new to the sector or a new way of tackling an age-old problem? Or do you know someone who just does what they do really, really well?

Team of the Year

The nominees will have provided an improved performance or service and demonstrate significant achievements and commitment to improving care and patient experience. Team work must be at the heart of everything they do.

Pharmacy of the Year

Have you received great service? Has a member of staff gone above or beyond the call of duty, greeted you with a smile and a friendly word? This award recognises the contribution of everyone in a Pharmacy to provide a good service to patients, where staff have gone the extra mile when treating you or someone you know.

Midwife of the Year

We are looking for a midwife who demonstrates an innovative and caring approach to their work. This person must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to patient care and put the patient at the heart of what they do.

Outstanding Achievement Award

This person may have had to overcome objections or barriers, finding new ways of working, developing new approaches to deliver the best possible care or other impact for people in the area. The judges will want to hear how they overcame the challenges presented and made a real difference.

Support Staff of the Year

This person must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to patient care and put the patient at the heart of what they do. We are looking for porters, receptionist, cleaners and other ancillary members of staff, Entrants can be from any health care profession, and can work anywhere, from a GP practice to in a hospital.

Paramedic or First Responder of the Year

We are looking for a paramedic or first responder who demonstrates an innovative and caring approach to their work. This person must demonstrate outstanding levels of commitment to patient care and put the patient at the heart of what they do.

Research Impact Award

This award recognises excellent research that has made a real difference to people’s lives. Whether it’s evidence that has changed practice in the NHS, public health or social care, or novel treatments that have been clinically tested and accepted, the judges want to hear about research that has made a significant and measurable impact. Entries into this award must be from research since 1st January 2019.

Together we Achieve Award

We want to hear about teams working together to deliver improved patient care and public health. They can be from any sector but must demonstrate impact, very strong team working, strong communication, and the ability to work across organisational boundaries.

Best Innovation Award

This award celebrates innovation in health and care – a new approach, application of an idea or technology. The judges want to hear how the innovation was developed and accepted, and how it has solved a problem or improved patient diagnosis or care. Entries into this award must have been introduced since the 1st January 2019.
